Be very careful with this place.
I went in for a routine annual checkup and only requested a Pap smear. Without my consent or request, the office ordered two additional tests that I did not ask for or need.
The lab order was sent to Quest with three separate tests: my Pap smear and two extra tests that were never discussed with me. I never signed anything authorizing these additional exams. I have now received a bill of almost $300, and my insurance is not covering those tests.
When I contacted the office, I was told the additional tests were “included” with the Pap smear. This makes no sense, if they were included, my insurance would have covered them. The same doctor had already told me I was healthy, had no cysts, and there was no medical reason explained to me for ordering additional tests that I did not request or consent to.
I clearly stated that I had no knowledge of these extra tests and asked why they were ordered at all. The only explanation given was that they were “included,” without any prior discussion or authorization.
Dr. Gabriel has been my doctor, which makes this situation even more disappointing. It felt like my concerns were not taken seriously. Her assistant was extremely rude and stated that there was nothing they could do, even though the office was the one that placed the lab order without my consent.
I am an international student and do not work, and this unexpected charge is a serious financial burden for me. I strongly advise anyone going here to ask exactly which tests are being ordered, as patients are not clearly informed and may end up with unexpected charges for tests they did not consent to.
This experience took place at the Moss Park location, and it was very unprofessional. I will not be returning.

I visited this clinic for a routine annual gynecological checkup. I was not sick and felt completely fine. I attended the appointment only because the clinic repeatedly sent reminders encouraging me to complete my annual exam. I understood the appointment was for a Pap smear only, and that is what I believed was performed.
Several months later, I received a bill from Quest Diagnostics for almost $300, which was very surprising because my insurance fully covers annual preventive visits. When I contacted Quest, I was informed that the charges were for additional tests ordered by the doctor’s office, not for the Pap smear itself.
I never requested, consented to, or was informed of these additional tests. Quest confirmed they only processed the order submitted by the clinic and advised me to contact the doctor’s office to correct the billing or cancel the tests.
When I contacted Contemporary Women’s Care, they were unable to provide any documentation showing that I requested or consented to these tests. I was told the tests were “included as part of a promotion.” I was never informed of any promotion, never agreed to it, and my insurance did not cover these tests — which clearly shows they were not actually included.
I explained that I am an international student, I do not work, and this unexpected charge is a serious financial burden. Despite this, I was told that nothing could be done. Dr. Gabriel and her staff stated they could not assist further, even though the clinic was the one that ordered the tests.
Quest Diagnostics has placed the bill on hold to give me time to resolve this issue, showing more understanding than the clinic that initiated the charges.
After reviewing online feedback, I found multiple reports of similar situations involving this clinic, which raises serious concerns about billing transparency and patient consent.
I am requesting assistance in resolving this matter, including removal of the unauthorized charges and improved transparency to prevent this from happening to other patients.

I cannot overstate how fantastic this practice and its doctors are! Phenomenal care from the very beginning of my first pregnancy. The office is run very well, the team is very friendly, and my “primary” OB, who delivered my son, is the best doctor I’ve ever had. Dr. Gabriel is extremely knowledgeable, she explains everything so well, and I have felt so comfortable and safe in her care- she’s also incredibly kind!! I’m so glad to have found her.

Dr Gabriel and this practice has overall been amazing. Going through a miscarriage has been difficult but her support has been incredible. I feel confident with our journey ahead knowing that we have the right doctor ! Very comfortable and happy with this practice.

I was dealing with an insurance issue that needed to be put back through. I contacted the office and kept them updated and they have it all noted. They turned my daughter into a collection agency anyways which will have a horrible impact on her credit. She has strived for great credit. Had she been informed even if they are waiting on insurance they will still turn you over to collections this could have been avoided. BE CAREFUL with this office.

Dr. Gabriel was truly amazing from 6 weeks pregnant to 40 weeks delivery, she made us feel comfortable and confident!
I had a few additional health concerns and she was able to address them and guide me through the pregnancy safely.
I would (and have) highly recommend her to anyone!

By far my favorite doctor in the practice. Only doctor to ask about my mental health, even with hx of PPD. Never felt rushed and has concise answers with tangible follow up to my concerns. Wish I could only see her for all future visits and delivery.
